I got home late the other night but in time to finish my bedtime responsibilities with the boys. After our first song Aidan told me the following...
"Daddy, Daddy. I have 1-2-3-4-5 angels that sit on my bed at night and help me not be afraid of when it gets dark. Davis has 1-2-3-4 angels that sit on his bed too. The angels come through my window and it's really bright. Then they stay under my bed until I am ready to go to sleep. I see the angels yelling at the clouds to stop lightning. Then they take the lightning and they smash it and they throw it through my window."
When I asked him what the angels look like, he told me, "Elephants."
Apparently Aidan combined the following into one story...
1. The episode of Barney he and Davis had seen earlier in the day highlighting elephants.
2. That night's Bible reading highlighting the angels announcing Jesus' birth to the shepherds.
3. Mommy reassuring him that he did not need to be afraid of the dark because God will protect him with angels.

The next day when I got home from school, Aidan showed me the bracelet he had made in Lamb School while Mommy was at Bible study. I asked him to explain it to me and this is what I got...
"This is black, I don't know what that is. This is red, it's for blood! This is white, that's clean. This is green and that's grow. And this is yellow...I don't know what that is either."
When I walk him through the colors again, he says, "Oh heaven is yellow! Cool!"
