The Saint and the Sailor

On nights when I (C) have basketball until 6:30, the boys eat early without me. Tonight Kate sent them to their table to wait for their food. She overheard the following...

"Okay Davis let's pray."

Aidan proceeded to thank God for the food and for his brother and his Daddy and his Mommy and his little baby sister and several other relatives and then for the food again. He pretty much covered all the bases from dinner and bedtime prayers, all by himself. Then he and Davis sang our "Thank You Lord" song we always sing after prayer.

Later when I got home, Kate sat down to eat with me. Davis decided to join us and decided he wanted some of my orange pop. I told him he needed a cup so off he ran to his "cup drawer" and returned with a sippy cup and top. He set it on the table, returned to his seat, and told Kate, "That's a cup! That's a cup right there!" I gave him a little orange pop and he guzzled it down. I was unwilling to give him a refill so he turned to Kate. She explained to him that her pop was rootbeer, not orange. To this Davis replied, "I want beer! I want beer Mommy! I want beer Mommy!"
